◆機能・用途(Purpose)

時間関数halfCos3(下記(\ref{eq.definition})式)に基づく時系列データを作成する。 エラーチェック機能が不十分なのでこの関数を直接用いてはならない。 この関数は関数create_timefuncからの内部呼び出し用である。
Create a time series data based on a time function halfCos3 defined by eq. (\ref{eq.definition}). Do not directly call this function because error checks are insufficient. This function is for an internal call from function create_timefunc.


◆時間関数の定義 (Definition of the time function)

概要(Overview)
\(\tau_p\)を正の定数として 時刻\(t<0\)で0、\(t>\tau_p\)で1を取る滑らかな時間関数である。 半周期分の三角関数\(\cos\)の引数に時間の3乗を用いており、ゆっくり加速した後に急激に減速する。 これは火山噴火前の地殻変動の計算を念頭に置いたものであり、 流体の蓄積・上昇によって地殻変動が徐々に加速した後、 脱ガスや噴火の開始に伴って一気に減速する過程をこの関数で近似的に表現する。
A smooth time function which takes 0 for time \(t<0\) and 1 for \(t>\tau_p\), where \(\tau_p\) is a positive constant. This function uses a cubic of time in the argument of half cycle cosine function. The function therefore accelerates slowly and then decelerates rapidly; this behaviour approximates a gradual acceleration of pre-eruptive crustal deformation at volcanoes caused by accumulation and upward migration of fluids followed by a relatively sudden deceleration of the deformation triggered by the start of a degassing or an eruption.

◆引数(Arguments)

tp (\ref{eq.definition})式における\(\tau_p\)の値。
The value of \(\tau_p\) in eq. (\ref{eq.definition}).
size 作成する時系列データのサンプル数。
The number of samples of the time series data to create.
t0 作成する時系列データの先頭時刻。
The beginning time of the time series data to create.
dt 作成する時系列データのサンプリング間隔。
The sampling interval of the time series data to create.
Nintegral 積分回数。以下の4つの値のいずれかを指定する。
The number of integrals, which must be one of the followings.
\(-1\) 時間関数の微分形(\ref{eq.derivative}式)を作成する。
Create the differential form (eq. \ref{eq.derivative}) of the time function.
0 時間関数そのもの(\ref{eq.definition}式)を作成する。
Create the time function itself (eq. \ref{eq.definition}).
1 時間関数の1階積分形を作成する。数値積分とし、 関数sequence_integral を用いる。
Create the 1st order integral form of the time function. The integration is performed numerically using function sequence_integral.
2 時間関数の2階積分形を作成する。数値積分とし、 関数sequence_integral を用いる。
Create the 2nd order integral form of the time function. The integration is performed numerically using function sequence_integral.

◆補足(Additional notes)

この関数において傾きが最大になる時刻は以下のように求められる。 (\ref{eq.derivative})式より、区間\(t\in [0,\tau_p]\)において \[\begin{eqnarray} \frac{d^2 f(t)}{dt^2} &=& \frac{3\pi t}{\tau_p^3}\sin(\pi t^3/\tau_p^3) +\frac{3\pi t^2}{2\tau_p^3}\frac{3\pi t^2}{\tau_p^3} \cos(\pi t^3/\tau_p^3) \nonumber \\ &=& \frac{3\pi t}{\tau_p^3}\sin(\pi t^3/\tau_p^3) +\frac{9\pi^2 t^4}{2\tau_p^6}\cos(\pi t^3/\tau_p^3) \label{eq.derivative2} \end{eqnarray}\] であるので、\(d^2 f(t)/dt^2=0\)となる条件は \[\begin{equation} \tan(\pi t^3/\tau_p^3) =-\frac{\frac{9\pi^2 t^4}{2\tau_p^6}}{\frac{3\pi t}{\tau_p^3}} =-\frac{3\pi t^3}{2\tau_p^3} \label{eq.max_slope.condition} \end{equation}\] と書ける。 \[\begin{equation} \theta\equiv \frac{\pi t^3}{\tau_p^3} \label{eq.theta} \end{equation}\] とおけば(\ref{eq.max_slope.condition})式は \[\begin{equation} \tan\theta=-\frac{3}{2}\theta \label{eq.max_slope.condition.use_theta} \end{equation}\] となる。\(0\leq t\leq \tau_p\)であることから\(0\leq\theta\leq\pi\)であり、 この範囲で(\ref{eq.max_slope.condition.use_theta})式の左辺と右辺をプロットすると 図1のようになる。したがって\(0\leq\theta\leq\pi\)の範囲で (\ref{eq.max_slope.condition.use_theta})式は1つだけ解を持つこと、 その解が\(1.8\leq\theta\leq 2.0\)の範囲にあることが分かる。 そこで、この範囲で解を数値的に探索すると\(\theta\sim 1.907090393923628\)となる。 これに対応する\(t\)の値は(\ref{eq.theta})式より \[\begin{equation} t=\tau_p\left(\frac{\theta}{\pi}\right)^{1/3} \sim 0.8467212682\tau_p \label{eq.max_slope.t} \end{equation}\] と計算できる。またこのとき \[\begin{eqnarray} f(t) &=& \frac{1-\cos(\pi t^3/\tau_p^3)}{2} \nonumber \\ &=& \frac{1-\cos\theta^3}{2} \nonumber \\ &\sim& 0.1028344309 \label{eq.max_slope.f} \end{eqnarray}\] である。
The time at which the slope of this function is maximal is computed as follows. From Eq. (\ref{eq.derivative}), the 2nd-order derivative of this function is calculated as Eq. (\ref{eq.derivative2}) for a section \(t\in [0,\tau_p]\). The condition for \(d^2 f(t)/dt^2=0\) is, therefore, given by Eq. (\ref{eq.max_slope.condition}), which can be rewritten as (\ref{eq.max_slope.condition.use_theta}), where \(\theta\) is defined by Eq. (\ref{eq.theta}). The solution for \(\theta\) should be searched in a range \(0\leq\theta\leq\pi\) because \(0\leq t\leq \tau_p\). Fig. 1 shows the left and right hand sides of Eq. (\ref{eq.max_slope.condition.use_theta}) in this range, showing that there is only one solution for \(\theta\) and it is in \(1.8\leq\theta\leq 2.0\). Numerically solve Eq. (\ref{eq.max_slope.condition.use_theta}) in this range gives \(\theta\sim 1.907090393923628\), which corresponds to a solution for \(t\) given by Eq. (\ref{eq.max_slope.t}). The value of \(f(t)\) for this time is given by Eq. (\ref{eq.max_slope.f}).
